Review: Essie Nail Polish Lilacism

Today I'm bringing you a post about one of my go-to nail polishes.  Essie's Lilacism is neutral enough to be appropriate in almost every situation, but still gives your nails a great lilac color.  I often find white based lavenders and lilacs to veer slightly grey, so I was ecstatic to find this polish that is a true lavender.

This photo truly captures the beauty of the polish in varying light

I topped off this perfect lilac manicure with a new top coat that I have been very pleased with.  The top coat is by Revlon and is the Extra Life No Chip Top Coat.  The manicure pictured below is after 3-4 days of wear and as you can see it is chip-free!!  I switched from my tried and true Seche Vite topcoat because it has become extremely thick and impossible to use.  I need to purchase some Seche Vite Restore to make the polish thinner.  It is typical for this top coat to get thick because it is such a quick drying top coat that any exposure to air makes it thicker.

Polish with two coats plus a top coat

I found this polish to be opaque in two coats and was surprised by the thinness of the polish.  My experience with Essie so far has been interesting because every polish I try from them seems to be a different consistency.  The thin consistency makes it easy to work with and creates a beautiful finished product because it dries opaquely.

Lilacism can be picked up for around $8, which is typical of a mid to high price range nail polish of this quality.  In addition, all Essie nail polishes come with 15ml of product which seems to be the same amount of product across all nail polish brands (including OPI).

Until next time,

Sarah
